I've picked it up in the recent sale, I had played it a little in the Beta and had fun, with the sale price and now Move support and the devs promising more updates I couldn't resist.
So what is Space Junkies? It's a VR FPS, it's in zero gravity so enemies can be above and below you, it's also cross platform between PC and PSVR.
Sadly the game only supports 4 players, hopefully more in the future, however this does not seem to be too bad, the maps are the perfect size for these small fights.
There are several modes, such as 2 v 2 death match, free for all, king mode, (points for holding the crown) and Instablast (one shot kill) and 2 v 2 instablast and probably more.
With the Move controllers you are able to move your arms in game and the lobby.
The lobby isn't just a static screen, you can fly around and practice with weapons and shoot targets or just chill and talk.
With the Ds4 your arms were locked in position, being able to move your arms really helps with immersion.
One thing that surprised me was that you can clap, your hands make a clapping noise when you clap, you can also point your fingers, make a fist and thumbs up sign, it's a small thing but it's brilliant.
There are different characters with different stats with variables on health and speed etc, they also look different, you can also add props to your helmet.
There are two accessories you can take with you into combat, some work better in certain modes than others, here's what I can remember.
A good general purpose item, useless in instablast 1 hit kill modes, takes a little time to heal and can't shoot with the hand that's holding the Medkit when healing.
A laser sword.
I never liked this at first but it grew on me.
Its got very limited range (it's a sword), but it's slash attack will a 1 hit kill enemies within aprox 2 metre range, your slash has to hit them tho. (not sure if the sword does damage without slashing).
This weapon teamed up with a fast character is a good assassin.
The sword slash recharges after a few seconds so no worrying about running out of ammo.
It offers vital protection but can't duel weld when holding, I prefer having 2 guns.
Useful in Instablast as you only have 1 gun in that mode, shield can only block 1 hit in that mode (more in others), I think it recharges after a bit.
This one's interesting, it drops an inflatable body double, its stationary but still copies your movements, it will explode when shot or when an enemy flys into it, its explosion only cause a small amount of damage.
So it's a small proxy mine and gives you extra time when the enemy shoots the decoy or pauses to think if it's real.
I can't remember if it's 2 or 3 you can drop, will update after the next time I play.
Drop this and enemies can't boost (move quicker) or use their items
Not sure if you give away your position when you use this, will check.
probably handy in some scenarios, will try experimenting.
Highlights enemies in its radius, enemies will know someone deployed a sonar there.
There's currently an xp glitch where you don't earn xp and can't access your wrist tablet to adjust your load out, I've heard joining a lobby, putting your ps4 into rest mode and then starting the game bypasses this for now, again I will test this and update.
There is some strategy to this game and choosing your load outs, before the game starts everyone can vote what mode/map the want, you can't edit your load outs in that area, going into Instablast with a Medkit isn't helpful, vote for a different map/mode etc.
You have have to choose between a flexible and a specific load out.
My mic wasn't working and my teammate did y know what mode we wer playing, I was able to answer by nodding my head.
